My daughter sent me this yesterday. Just read this column by sports writer Rick Reilly. This is the church at her best. And see if there isn’t some way God might show you to give yourself away to someone on a rocky road!

Awesome Wayne, I’ll be forwarding it to a few of my contacts here. Hey Kent every time I read that paragraph from ‘the shack’ I can’t help but think of the last scene from the movie the matrix. Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!
This scene Jon? It’s become something I think about continuously. How do we live awake so we can live free so being in the world but not of it (controlled by it) becomes possible. Love and sacrificial service to others really does seem to be violations of the ugly ways in which the world works. Those acts usually leave people standing around scratching their heads not understanding what just happened…..but also knowing that there is something about it that they feel drawn to.
Thank your daughter for sharing this and thank you for you passing it on. I sent it out to al in my contact list! I think we need to hear about more of these things happening. It reminds me of the scripture that talks about how easy it is to love those that we like, but loving the unlovable is what Father really wants us to do and this is a fine example of that!

I personally found this to be kind of hokey, but if they were genuine I guess it could be seen as legit. Perhaps they’ve seen “Facing the Giants” one too many times.
God knows this world could use more kindness – perhaps I’m just to cynical.
