When I look at their way-less-than-perfect lives, I know God's mercy is truly real and completely amazing. And when I take a gander at my own heart, I know it all over again. Papa knocks my socks off! (Good thing it's hot as blazes over here in Japan and I don't need them anyway. Bring on the ice - though I'll pass on a diet Coke, thanks. Oh yeah, Wayne, we've got those plastic ice trays over here, too!) :) My grandparents will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary next month! I'd bet that most of those 60 years probably felt like an unremarkable series of small, mundane moments for your parents. Cause isn't that just how life feels for all of us, most days? Family reunion, family reconciliation... Those extremely uplifting images point to the grand redemption our Lord is working in and through His family, moment by moment and person by person, in all these apparently unremarkable ways.
